Missions are your guide through Project Zero. They teach you the game mechanics, reward your progress, and unveil the mysteries of this digital world.
Mission Types
Missions come in several varieties, each requiring different skills:
Hack Missions
Infiltrate target systems. Some require hacking specific hosts, others challenge you to hack multiple unique targets.
Collect Missions
Accumulate resources. Mine Bits, gather from successful operations, or find other ways to hit your target amount.
Cleanup Missions
Cover your tracks. Delete logs and traces from systems you've compromised to avoid detection.
Discovery Missions
Find hidden files scattered across the network. Some contain valuable data, others hold fragments of the Project Zero story.
Data Operations
Download files from target systems or upload files to plant evidence. Handle data with precision.
Database Missions
Access and modify database entries on target hosts. Sometimes you need to change records, not just steal them.
Composite Missions
Complex operations combining multiple objectives. These test all your skills at once.
Quest Chains
Some missions are connected in quest chains. Completing one mission unlocks the next, guiding you through increasingly complex challenges.

Lore Missions

Repeatable Missions
Some missions can be completed multiple times:
- Daily Challenges: Reset regularly with fresh objectives
- Cooldown Period: Wait time between attempts
- Consistent Rewards: Great source of steady income
Starting & Tracking Missions
To work with missions:
- Open the Missions panel from the main interface
- Browse available missions (some may be locked)
- Click on a mission to see its requirements and rewards
- Start the mission when you're ready
- Track your progress in the active missions panel
- Rewards are granted automatically upon completion
Mission Rewards
Completing missions grants various rewards:
- Bits: The primary currency
- Reputation: Climb the leaderboards
- Items: Useful tools and consumables
- Story Progress: Unlock new content
