Start the First Hack mission, follow Ivy through it, then spend the reward on two upgrades: one hardware, one software. After that: daily missions, more hacks, keep both upgrade slots busy. The full route is in Getting Started.

Your level is your weakest component. Bring all 11 to the next level and you go up. HOST shows how many are ready. See Host Components.

It is locked: the card says why, either a level you have not reached or a mission you have not finished yet.

On the ITEMS page, second tab. Bytes are sold there too, for Bits.

Cracking only opens the door. A hack counts when you press Disconnect before the trace hits zero. Stay too long and you are traced; disconnect before the crack ends and it fails too. See Hacking.

Each target has a cooldown after you hit it: short after a success, longer after a trace or a failed hack. The Crack button counts it down. Every other target is free.

Click red IPs in missions, add IPs from logs, type an IP at the bottom of HOME, or use a Hex Map Package. See Target Management.

The target sees the last host before it in your bounce list. Only the first relay sees your real IP. No relays, and the target sees you. See Bounces & Logs.

Press LOGS on HOME: the theft is there with an IP, and the + adds it to your targets. Careful: that IP may be a relay, not the thief.

You have been hacking at a pace no human keeps. Take a break and it cools down. See Fair Play & Heat.

Open the HEX page: the first time, it asks you to pick the Syndicate or the Collective.

Keys drop, by chance, from hacking the Nexus of a hex your faction holds or has just taken. Peripheral nodes never drop them. See Nexus Control.

The DUNGEON page. Normal opens at level 3, harder ones later. See Dungeon.

Buy a Corporate Registration Kit, use it, run corporation.app from /usr/bin and pay the founding fee. See Corporations.

They only drop for members of a corporation with an active research. Without one you still find craft currency. See Modules & Fabricator.

It is encrypted, like most drops. Spend Decryption Keys to reveal it. Rarer modules cost more keys.

That module was issued by a corporation, and its staff pulled the license. You still have it, but it does nothing.

A schematic file was planted on the target. Find the .schematic file in its filesystem and copy it to your host before the trace, then deliver it to your corp Warehouse.

Three checks: the component must be level 3 or more, the module must fit that component, and it must be decrypted.

Probably heat, or a drop slot that has not refilled yet. The results window of every hack tells you how many slots are ready.

Fragments open in story order: you need every fragment before it. Keep hacking. See Lore & Story.

Clear the browser cache, turn off extensions, or try another browser (Chrome works best). Then check your connection.

The interface is built for a desktop screen: zoom your browser to 150%. On a phone, play in landscape.

Turn them on from the gear in the chat bar, and allow them when the browser asks. If you blocked them once, allow them again in the browser's site settings.
